New Mega-Resort on the Las Vegas Strip
October 26, 2022A $4 billion integrated resort is coming to the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip. It is the first major new mega-resort in a decade. The project will include multiple hotels, a massive spa, pools, and gaming. Resorts World Las Vegas is expected to open in late June 2021.
The development will be near the airport and is convenient for those who need to get to Las Vegas quickly for meetings or events. The drive to the heart of the Strip is only about 20 minutes, depending on traffic. The project has been met with some security concerns because of its proximity to the airport. However, the developers have tried to convey that the new project was meant to bring something different to the Strip.
Unlike the aging and run-down Bellagio, Echelon is a modern, sprawling mega-resort. It has a plethora of bars and restaurants, a nightclub and a casino. The resort also offers a lazy river and wave pool. It also has a theater that hosts Magic Mike Live.
Construction on the resort began in 2005 and is expected to be completed in 2021. The east tower will reach 60 floors, while the west tower will reach 39 floors. The project is expected to attract a mix of leisure and business travelers. The original investor plans to open the project in 2024, ahead of the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Circa is the first Downtown Las Vegas resort to be built from the ground up since 1980. It features the tallest tower north of the Strip. Developed by Greg Stevens, Circa pays homage to the history of Vegas, while incorporating the latest technology. The resort also features a broadcasting studio and large video screens.
The hotel is also located directly next to the Las Vegas Convention Center. It provides access to the convention center and downtown Las Vegas’ arts district. It also offers direct access to Area 15 attractions, including the renowned Lost Spirits exhibit and the Illuminarium, where Meow Wolf has installed an Omega Mart installation.
Located on Las Vegas Boulevard near Flamingo, Park MGM offers a centralized location. The hotel’s eclectic design includes industrial, modern, and retro accents. Highlights include the onsite Giada restaurant and the upscale rooftop nightclub, Drai’s. The casino is relatively small, but it has some of the best games in the area.
The Oak View project is also near the intersection of two major interstates. It will also be adjacent to the Brightline West high-speed rail station, which will provide access to Southern California. Oak View also plans to build a 20,000-seat arena, which could be used to host sporting events, concerts, and award shows. This will increase the city’s visibility and draw local traffic to the area.
Excalibur, the hotel’s adjacent casino, is a good place to stay for a romantic getaway. The hotel features rooms and suites with views of the Strip. It also includes a casino with a sports book. A nearby shopping mall offers more options for dining and drinking.
